Born and raised in Toronto, the 21 year old recording artist, Diia, is fun-loving, spontaneous, exciting, and diverse. Growing up, she was always heavily influence by the music around her. Diia also participated in musical theatre, dance, and has been singing informally for as long as she can remember. Not one to tread lightly, when she decided to focus on her music – she did so whole-heartedly. Diia has been building a name in the industry ever since, and brings a positive energy to her audience through her music.
She has released several original singles, as well as her self-written EP titled ‘More ThanOrdinary’. Diia is releasing her second EP titled ‘Kaleidoscope Eyes’ in the coming weeks of January 2013. This new year also brings the release of several new House/Dance singles and the development of her first album. Diia’s music depicts all facets of her life and she has been working tirelessly to master her craft.
Diia especially loves live performances. Here, she can truly bring her music to life. An important aspect of Diia’s creative process is the ability to create music that resonates with her audience. Working alongside some of her peers, Diia has been given the opportunity to share her music live with fans at various events and venues.
Diia makes it clear that her music isn’t about the aesthetics of the music industry. Even though you can catch Diia’s voice featured on a few other artists’ tracks; her primary focus right now is her music. She has her eye on the prize and isn’t ready to play it safe.
A singer, songwriter, dancer and performer, Diia is destined to shine. She believes the future has great plans in store for her. She also hopes her music can inspire others. For her, music is the ultimate truth and she hopes her audiences will embrace it for it’s genuine sound.
