On March 20th Alex Samaras and Bobby Hsu present “The Songs of Sondheim” with special guest vocalist Sophia Perlman at the JAZZ.FM91 Cabaret Series. Their latest album “A Sondheim Jazz Project”, “rebuilds the long lost bridge between Broadway and modern jazz, setting Stephen Sondheim’s beautiful melodies and brilliant lyrics to the stylistic language of Wayne Shorter and Terence Blanchard. To pay tribute to this prolific composer, Alex Samaras and saxophonist/music historian Bobby Hsu will come together to perform “The Songs of Sondheim”.

Carl Berger, Ross Lynde, Lucas Marchand and Kurt Sampson are all brilliant singers on their own but when they come together as Cadence they are simply one of the best acapella vocal ensembles in North America. Cadence has released four critically acclaimed studio albums and is featured on “A Blues for the New World” by David Clayton Thomas who described this foursome as “pure genius”!
