JAZZ.FM91 announced a new concert series – the JAZZ.FM91 – Kronenbourg 1664 Cabaret Series.  This four-part cabaret series will take place at Hugh’s Room – one of Canada’s premier live music venues. 

“We are excited about this venture into cabaret, as it will allow us to expand our horizons and to engage and delight a diverse caliber of audience.” said JAZZ.FM91 President & CEO Ross Porter.  “Collectively, this group of talent will provide entertaining performances that are not to be missed.”

 

The JAZZ.FM91 – Kronenbourg 1664 Cabaret Series kicks off on Tuesday, October 11th with Platinum Award-winning writer Ann Hampton Callaway, whose songs are featured on six of Barbra Streisand’s recent CDs. Ann’s unique singing style blends jazz and traditional pop, making her a mainstay in concert halls, theatres and jazz clubs as well as in the recording studio, on television, and in film.

Daryl’s a sparkling mainstay ofManhattannightlife, and an internationally acclaimed singer/pianist who had a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf Astoria where she played Cole Porter’s Steinway.

 

 

On January 11th, master of many trades in music and media Ben Sidran will perform “Jews, Music and the American Dream: A Tribute to American Popular Songs”. A jazz pianist of international renown, lyricist of a rock classic, award-winning national broadcaster, record and video producer, scholar, author, journalist, and father to a second generation musical prodigy, Sidran has been a major player in modern jazz, rock and pop for over forty years.

 

 

Ian Shaw  “A Broadway Stage Affair… Love Songs from The Great Musicals” – Thursday, March 15, 2011 8:30PM. Ian has amassed a number of highly acclaimed albums and is a popular performer both in theUKand theUS. An incredibly colourful character, he has been cited as one of the world’s finest male jazz vocalists.  Shaw’s career in performance began unusually for a jazz musician on the Alternative Cabaret Circuit, along side such performers as Julian Clary, Rory Bremner and Jo Brand.
